The first batch of players from the Kenpong Football Academy have arrived in Belgium to commence a high-profile training tour, where they will test themselves against some of the country’s most prestigious clubs.

During their stay, the academy side will play friendly matches against Club Brugge, KRC Genk, KV Mechelen, and potentially Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht.

The trip, which is fully sponsored by academy founder and renowned Ghanaian businessman Kennedy Agyepong, forms part of the institution’s vision to provide young talents with international exposure and invaluable experience.

The players, many of whom are travelling outside Ghana for the first time, have expressed their excitement and eagerness to seize the opportunity. Speaking upon arrival, some of the youngsters described the tour as a “dream come true” and a chance to showcase their ability on a bigger stage.

“This is a very big moment for us. Playing against teams like Club Brugge and Genk is something we have always dreamed of. We are grateful to our founder and coaches for this opportunity, and we are determined to give our best,” one of the players said.

Officials of the academy believe the tour will not only boost the players’ confidence but also sharpen their technical and tactical awareness, while providing scouts across Europe with the chance to monitor emerging Ghanaian talent.

The Kenpong Football Academy continues to position itself as one of the fastest-growing football development institutions in Ghana, with the Belgium tour serving as another step in its mission to nurture the next generation of stars.
