Kudus Could Reunite with Heitinga at Tottenham Amid Managerial Uncertainty

Ghana international Mohammed Kudus could return from injury to play under John Heitinga at Tottenham Hotspur, with the Dutch coach reportedly under consideration to replace Thomas Frank as manager.

Heitinga, who was appointed to Frank’s backroom staff last month, is understood to be among the names being discussed internally should the club decide to make a change in the dugout. The former Ajax head coach could be asked to take interim charge until the end of the season if he is formally considered and subsequently appointed.

A reunion between Kudus and Heitinga would represent a significant subplot at the North London club. It was during Heitinga’s time at Ajax that Kudus was handed a major breakthrough opportunity in the Eredivisie, with the Dutch tactician placing considerable trust in the Ghanaian midfielder during a crucial stage of his development. Kudus went on to establish himself as one of Ajax’s most exciting attacking talents, attracting widespread interest across Europe.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup-bound Black Stars playmaker has recently been sidelined through injury, but reports suggest he is progressing well in his recovery and could soon return to first-team action. His potential comeback would provide a timely boost for Spurs as they navigate a challenging phase of the campaign.

Tottenham’s hierarchy are believed to be assessing their options carefully amid growing scrutiny over results and performances. While no final decision has been announced regarding Frank’s future, the prospect of Heitinga stepping into a leading role has already generated discussion among supporters, particularly given his familiarity with Kudus’ strengths and playing style.

Should the move materialise, it could offer Kudus a renewed platform to rediscover his best form under a coach who previously played a pivotal role in his rise to prominence.
