Great Olympics defender, Larry Ibrahim Sumaila, has rallied the club’s supporters to turn up in their numbers for the upcoming Democracy Cup clash against arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.

The Wonder Club, who have been stepping up preparations for the new season at the La McDan Park, are eager to begin their campaign on a strong note as they aim to re-establish themselves in Ghana’s top-flight football.

In the build-up to the encounter, the team received a timely boost when Twellium Industrial Company paid a surprise visit, donating cartons of bottled water and energy drinks to aid their preparations.

Speaking after Thursday’s training session, Sumaila stressed the importance of fan support in what promises to be an intense showdown between the two traditional rivals.

“We all know the rivalry between Hearts of Oak and Olympics is fierce and historic,” he told reporters. “We call on everyone to come to the stadium to witness a great football game.”

The enterprising full-back further assured the supporters of their commitment to deliver. “We want to invite all our fans to rally behind us on the 5th of September at the University of Ghana Stadium, to cheer us on so that we can bring glory back to Great Olympics. We will not disappoint.”

The much-anticipated Democracy Cup fixture is scheduled for Friday, 5th September, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Legon.
