My victory against Anas is for Kwesi Nyantakyi- Kennedy Agyapong
Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central has said that the recent High Court ruling against Tiger Eye PI Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas is a victory for Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi, former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Kwesi Nyantakyi was given a 15-year ban in 2018 after allegedly involving himself in corruption-related issues which were revealed in Anas’ Number 12 expose which was described by the MP as an unfair approach to investigative journalism.
High Court Judge, Justice Eric Baah while addressing a defamation case against Mr. Kennedy Agyapong today described the Journalist as a blackmailer who extorts money from his opponents and people he disliked.
The Assin Central MP also speaking after the court ruling said “ All I will say is the victory is for Kwesi Nyantakyi, what he has gone through, Anas’ humiliation in this country, no citizen in this country should go through this.”
He called for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia should apologize to Mr. Charles Adu Boahen, Former Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance who was featured in Anas’ Galamsey Economy” expose.
Tiger Eye PI responding to the High Court ruling in a statement said “ We find the decision of the court an unfortunate travesty of justice and very inimical to the administration of justice and fairness.”
It said that the Member of Parliament was in court with Kwesi Nyantakyi who had been banned for fifteen years from all football-related activities.
The statement urged that Tiger Eye PI would continue its mandate of fighting against corruption in society
