Head coach of the Ghana Black Stars, Otto Addo, has reconnected with his roots following Ghana’s successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Germany-born tactician, accompanied by his mother and siblings, visited Akuapem Akropong, the hometown of his late father, Ebenezer Awuku Addo, to express gratitude and reconnect with his ancestral heritage.

During the visit, the Addo family paid a courtesy call on Osadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo Ababio III, the Okuapehene, to show appreciation for the community’s continuous support, encouragement, and blessings throughout Otto Addo’s coaching journey.

The warm reception from the chiefs and people of Akuapem Akropong reflected the pride the community feels for one of its distinguished sons, who has guided Ghana back to football’s biggest stage.

Otto Addo, visibly touched by the gesture, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the traditional leaders and residents for their unwavering prayers and support.

“It means a lot to come back home and feel the love of my people. My father would have been proud to see this moment. I’m truly grateful for the blessings and encouragement from Akuapem,” he said.

The visit also highlighted Addo’s deep respect for his cultural heritage, as he continues to balance his international career with a strong connection to his Ghanaian roots.
