Sensational midfielder Raphael Tetteh once again proved decisive as Parin FC secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Desire FC in their Accra North District Football Association (ANDFA) Zone Two Third Division League clash at Abofu, Achimota.
Tetteh’s moment of brilliance arrived in the first half, when he unleashed one of his trademark long-range drives to break the deadlock. The stunning effort ultimately separated the two sides in a tense encounter that was not without controversy, as Parin FC battled through what many supporters perceived as questionable officiating from the centre referee.
Despite the narrow lead, Parin FC displayed composure and resilience, maintaining their advantage until the interval. They returned for the second half with renewed dominance, dictating the tempo and creating several promising opportunities to extend their lead.
However, profligacy in front of goal denied them a more comfortable victory, with attacking duo Samuel Amponsah and Micheal Ayertey both guilty of missing clear-cut chances.
The match took another dramatic turn when Ayertey was shown a red card following a challenge on an opponent, leaving Parin FC to defend their slender lead with ten men in the closing stages.
Nevertheless, the team held firm to secure all three points, continuing their impressive run of form as they push for qualification to the middle league phase.
Parin FC will next face Talents FC in what promises to be another fiercely contested fixture at the Abelemkpe Astro Turf on Thursday.
