Senya Bereku (C/R), Nov. 4 – The Royal Executives Club, a group of young professionals from Senya Bereku, has presented four sets of jerseys, 20 sachets of water and five cartons of bottled water to four basic schools participating in the ongoing inter-school games in the area.

The gesture, which took place on Tuesday at Senya Bereku, is aimed at encouraging sports development and unearthing young talent within the community.

The Royal Executives Club, Formed in 2018, is made up of 16 indigenes of Senya Bereku who are committed to supporting one another and contributing to the growth of their hometown.

Presenting the items, the Welfare Officer of the Club, Rev. Charles Sekum, said the initiative was a pilot project and would be extended to more schools next year as part of the Club’s social intervention programmes.

The Circuit Chairman for Sports, Mr. Seth Asiedu, and the Circuit Organiser, Mr. Kwame Asante, both expressed appreciation to the Club, describing the gesture as the first of its kind in more than 20 years.

Some of the pupils who received the donation also expressed their excitement.

“We are very happy because we did not have enough jerseys,” said a JHS pupil. “Now we feel proud to wear our school colours.”

Another student stated, “The bottled water and sachet water will help us during the matches. We usually get tired and thirsty, so this will make it easier for us to play.”

A teacher from one of the beneficiary schools added that the donation had come at a crucial time and would boost the morale of the pupils during the competition.

The Royal Executives Club reiterated its commitment to supporting education, sports and youth development in Senya Bereku and it’s surrounding towns
