Five Real Tamale United players departed Ghana this morning for Turkey to attend a trial camp organised by a German club currently holding its pre-season training in Germany.

The opportunity was facilitated by the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Zakaria Safianu, who described the move as a “historic step” for the Tamale-based side.

“This is a big opportunity not just for the players, but for the entire RTU family,” Mr Safianu said before their departure. “Our vision has always been to create international pathways for our talents, and we are confident that these boys will make us proud.”

The players travelling for the trials are Wisdom Jonas Manyina, Abdul Shakur Lukman, Yaya Latif, Omani Osbourne and Samuel Lamptey.

Speaking to the media at the airport, captain of the travelling group, Wisdom Jonas Manyina, expressed his gratitude to the club’s management. “This is a dream come true. We are going to give our very best and hopefully secure contracts that will lift the image of RTU and Ghana football,” he said.

Striker Abdul Shakur Lukman added: “Leaving home is never easy, but we are motivated by the trust placed in us. We promise to work hard and represent our people with pride.”

Midfielder Yaya Latif also shared his optimism: “Playing in Europe has always been my ambition. This is the first step, and we will make sure we don’t waste this chance.”

Both Omani Osbourne and Samuel Lamptey echoed similar sentiments, pledging to approach the trials with determination and professionalism.

The development is being hailed by fans as a significant breakthrough for RTU, as it opens the door to further international exposure and opportunities for the club’s young talents.
