Sadiq Adams Slams Critics, Demands Respect for Ghana No.1 Benjamin Asare

Sadiq Adams Defends Benjamin Asare, Urges Ghanaians to Support Local Talent

Former Ashgold, Asante Kotoko and Black Stars striker, Sadiq Adams, has risen to the defence of Hearts of Oak and Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare.

Adams expressed concern over what he described as unfair criticism directed at the goalkeeper in recent weeks, noting that some sections of the football fraternity appear more interested in “pulling him down” than acknowledging his achievements.

According to Adams, Asare deserves commendation rather than condemnation, especially considering the consistency and maturity he has brought to the Phobians’ setup and the national team. He stressed that the goalkeeper’s recent performances have strengthened the case for the inclusion of locally based players in the Black Stars, proving that talent from the Ghana Premier League can compete at the highest level.

“Sincerely, what Benjamin Asare needs at this moment is encouragement, not unnecessary attacks,” Adams noted. “His form shows that local players are capable of delivering when given the opportunity. We should be proud of him and support him to grow even further.”

He further urged supporters, analysts, and the media to show fairness and objectivity in their assessments, adding that continuous negative commentary only destroys the confidence of hardworking players who strive to elevate the image of Ghanaian football.

Adams also called on the football community to rally behind Asare as Hearts of Oak continue their league campaign, insisting that goalkeepers, like all players, thrive on collective support and trust.
