Sports Minister Orders NSA to Revoke 17 Alleged Irregular Appointments
The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has directed the Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, to comply with a resolution by the NSA Board to revoke the appointments of 17 staff members who were allegedly recruited without due process.
According to the directive, the Chief Operations Officer (COO) has been given until Thursday, 26 February, to vacate his position on the grounds that the role is not recognised within the approved organisational structure of the Authority.
The remaining 16 staff members are also expected to receive letters formally terminating their appointments.
The Minister further indicated that once the NSA obtains the necessary clearance to undertake recruitment, the affected individuals may reapply. However, they will be required to undergo the standard recruitment process, with appointments to be made strictly on merit.
