“Storm at Hearts of Oak: Rene Hiddink’s Lawyer Petitions FIFA Over ‘Sneaky Dealings’”

David Winnie, legal representative of former Accra Hearts of Oak Technical Director Rene Hiddink, has accused the Ghanaian giants of acting dishonestly in the wake of FIFA’s three-window transfer ban imposed on the club.

Speaking on Oyerepa 100.7 FM, Winnie claimed that Hearts of Oak had prior knowledge of the impending sanction but deliberately rushed to register players before the ban took effect.

“Hearts of Oak acted dishonestly and in a sneaky manner. They were aware that the FIFA ban was imminent, yet they hurried to complete player registrations. I will petition FIFA to dissolve the club,” he declared.

The transfer ban stems from the club’s failure to settle a $150,000 debt owed to Hiddink, who previously served as Technical Director. Despite repeated reminders, the payment deadline was missed, prompting FIFA to take disciplinary action.

The Dutch trainer’s lawyer insists that Hearts’ conduct undermines the integrity of football governance and must not go unpunished. He has therefore indicated his intention to escalate the matter further with world football’s governing body.

Hearts of Oak are yet to issue an official response to Winnie’s latest comments.
