Top Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has thrown his weight behind the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Chad and Mali.

The West African giants takes on Chad in Ndjamena on Thursday, September 4 before hosting Mali in Accra, with victories in both games crucial to securing them a ticket to the World Cup.

Currently, the West African powerhouse sit top of Group I, accumulating 15 points after six matches, followed by Comoros (12 points), Madagascar (10), Mali (9), Central Africa Republic (5), with Chad yet to secure a point.

Ahead of the games, the former BET award winner has entreated the players to play as a team over individualist play in order to triumph over their opponents.

“The happiness of Ghanaians depends on the results they give us on the field. Many Ghanaians watch Black Stars matches with their heart so if the results aren’t good, it affects us. They shouldn’t just focus on dribbling but rather give us positive results on the field. As Ghanaian, we will give them our support and hope the team deliver for us” he said.

The Black Stars has already arrived in Ndjamena and are poised for the much-anticipated clash against Chad on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Alexander Djiku and Joseph Paintsil are set to miss the game against Chad for various reasons.
