Usyk and Dubois Face Off Ahead of Historic Undisputed Heavyweight Title Clash at Wembley

The countdown has begun for one of the most eagerly anticipated boxing events in recent memory, as Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois prepare to go head-to-head in a blockbuster rematch at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 19 July 2025.

The two heavyweight titans faced off on Monday, 15 July, beneath the famous Wembley arches in a tense pre-fight moment that encapsulated the gravity and intensity surrounding this historic encounter.

This bout marks the first undisputed heavyweight title fight ever staged on British soil, with everything on the line. All four major sanctioning body titles—WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, and IBF—alongside the IBO and The Ring Magazine belts will be contested. Usyk currently holds five of the six, while Dubois enters as the IBF champion, a title he captured after Usyk vacated it in 2024. The stage is now set for a true winner-takes-all showdown.

But this is more than a unification fight—it is a battle for redemption and legacy.

For Usyk, 38, it is an opportunity to reclaim the only belt that eluded him and further cement his name among the sport’s greats. Already unbeaten and widely regarded as one of the finest technical boxers of his generation, Usyk is aiming to join Terence Crawford and Naoya Inoue as only the third fighter in the four-belt era to become an undisputed champion in two weight divisions. He previously unified the cruiserweight division before conquering the heavyweights.

For 27-year-old Daniel Dubois, this is a deeply personal fight. Their initial meeting in Poland in August 2023 ended in bitter controversy. A fifth-round body shot that visibly hurt Usyk was deemed a low blow, granting the Ukrainian crucial recovery time. He went on to stop Dubois in the ninth round. Dubois and his team have long contended that the punch was legal, believing it was the pivotal moment in a fight they felt he was winning.

Since then, Dubois has returned more formidable than ever. He recorded emphatic victories over top contenders Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgović, before stunning Anthony Joshua with a knockout win at Wembley in September 2024. That triumph not only earned him the IBF belt but also a return to boxing’s grandest stage—under the same arch where he now seeks redemption.

Usyk, meanwhile, only enhanced his legacy in 2024. He became the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era with a historic win over Tyson Fury, and then repeated the feat in a rematch. Although he was later stripped of the IBF title due to scheduling conflicts, his dominance has remained unquestioned.

Saturday’s bout represents Usyk’s chance to reclaim what was never lost in the ring, while Dubois aims to avenge his only professional defeat and crown himself the new undisputed king of the division.

A capacity crowd of 90,000 is expected at Wembley Stadium, with millions more tuning in across the globe. The event will be broadcast live on DAZN pay-per-view and Sky Sports Box Office in the UK for £25.99, and on DAZN USA for $59.99. Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. BST (12:30 p.m. ET), with ring walks for the main event scheduled for 9:45 p.m. BST and the first bell expected shortly after 10:00 p.m..

This clash is more than just a spectacle—it is a defining moment in the annals of heavyweight boxing.

Will Usyk continue his reign and make history once more, or will Dubois rise to the occasion and rewrite his narrative as the undisputed champion?

All will be revealed under the lights of Wembley on Saturday night, in a contest destined to shape the legacy of both men.
