Veteran Ghanaian football coach, Frimpong Manso, has been selected to participate in the prestigious FIFA Talent Development Programme currently underway in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The highly respected former player and coach is among a select group of experienced football professionals from across Africa invited to be part of the initiative aimed at identifying, nurturing, and advancing young football talent across the continent. The programme is organised under the auspices of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme, spearheaded by the organisation’s Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger.

Frimpong Manso, who has previously managed top Ghanaian clubs including Asante Kotoko and Nkoranza Warriors, brings a wealth of experience to the table, both as a former national team defender and as a tactician with a track record of youth development. His inclusion is a testament to his longstanding contribution to Ghanaian football and his commitment to mentoring emerging talent.

The FIFA Talent Development Programme seeks to provide technical support, resources, and mentorship to help member associations strengthen their youth development structures. In Abidjan, participants are expected to engage in technical workshops, observe practical training sessions, and collaborate with other football development experts from the West African sub-region.

Speaking ahead of his departure, Frimpong Manso expressed gratitude to the Ghana Football Association and FIFA for the opportunity. “I am honoured to be part of this important programme. It is a unique chance to share knowledge, learn new methodologies, and contribute to the future of African football,” he said.

The Ghana Football Association has also congratulated the veteran coach, stating that his participation will further enhance the country’s efforts in building a more robust talent pipeline.

The event in Abidjan forms part of a broader series of regional development programmes being rolled out by FIFA across the globe, aimed at ensuring that every talent is given a chance, regardless of geography or background.
