WAFU ZONE B Boys Cup: Ghana winger Foster Apetorgbor ready for Benin

Ghana U-20 winger Forster Apetorgbor has expressed confidence and readiness as the Black Satellites gear up to face Benin in their second Group A fixture at the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-20 Boys Championship on Wednesday.

The Black Satellites were held to a 1-1 draw in their opening match against Nigeria, and anything less than a win against Benin would see them exit the tournament.

Apetorgbor, formerly of the now-defunct Ghana Premier League side Nsoatreman FC, addressed the media during a pre-match press conference, underlining the team’s determination to secure a vital victory.

“We were hoping to win our first game against Nigeria, but unfortunately it ended in a draw,” Apetorgbor said.

“We’ve worked hard in training and the team spirit is high. We understand what is at stake and we’re determined not to let this opportunity slip away. We are fully focused and prepared to go all out for the win against Benin.”

“The aim is to secure all three points, and that’s the mentality we’re taking into this match.”

Ghana will face a wounded Benin side that suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Nigeria in their opening fixture.
