”Well…it’s between you and your God,” – Apoplectic Karim Zito cries foul over media treatment
The maverick gaffer could not hold back his frustration towards the media as he feels being treated unfairly by them given his words over the injury situation of his charges so far this season
Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito has said some journalists are putting pressure on him as he currently faces an injury crisis among his playing body in the Ghana Premier League.
The outspoken manager is incensed by the way and manner some of the media have subjected him to an unwanted scrutiny over the health condition of his players following his detailed explanation on their physical health prior to their game against Dreams FC on Sunday.
Zito said journalists tend to give much credence to a foreign coach in the person of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola when it comes to addressing the injury situation of his players, but same treatment can’t be meted out to him as a local manager due to bias towards him.
The 65-year-old enigmatic tactician fired to the gathered journalists at his post-match press conference: ”Some of you (media) are putting pressure on me. lf Guardiola tells you Rodri is injured, you’ll say it’s okay. But if Karim Zito tells you 13 players are injured you say it’s not okay… Well, lt’s between you and your God.”
