Gaspar Begins Black Stars Role with Hearts Visit, Meets Asare in Talent Assessment Drive

Newly appointed Black Stars goalkeeping coach, Daniel Gaspar, has begun settling into his role with a courtesy visit to Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak at their training base at Pobiman in Accra.

During the visit, Gaspar took time to observe proceedings and engage with players and technical staff, with particular attention given to promising shot-stopper Benjamin Asare. The interaction formed part of the coach’s broader assessment of local goalkeeping talent as he looks to strengthen the Black Stars’ options ahead of upcoming international assignments.

Gaspar, who brings a wealth of experience from both European and international football, is expected to play a key role in refining the technical and tactical aspects of Ghana’s goalkeepers. His presence at the Hearts of Oak training session highlights a renewed focus on scouting and nurturing home-based players, a move that has been widely welcomed by local football stakeholders.

Sources close to the team indicate that discussions between the coach and Asare centred on positioning, distribution, and decision-making under pressure—areas Gaspar is keen to enhance within the national setup.
