Dr Al-Dosari led a high-powered delegation from the International Mini-Football Federation and was warmly received by the Minister alongside the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mrs Wihelmina Asamoah, and other key officials.

During discussions, the IMF President outlined the Federation’s vision of making mini-football one of the world’s most accessible and entertaining sporting disciplines. He explained that the game, usually played with five or six players on a smaller pitch, offers a fast-paced and exciting version of football that appeals to people of all ages.

Dr Al-Dosari also highlighted the IMF’s global initiatives, including grassroots development programmes, youth empowerment projects and the organisation of international competitions designed to provide opportunities for emerging talents.

He expressed optimism that Ghana could become a major force in mini-football on the African continent through collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams welcomed the delegation and praised the IMF for its commitment to promoting alternative sporting disciplines capable of engaging the youth and creating new opportunities for athletes.

The Minister reiterated Ghana’s readiness to embrace innovative sports initiatives that can foster national unity, talent development and international recognition. He further assured the Federation of the Ministry’s support in exploring the establishment of mini-football leagues, coaching structures and training programmes across the country.

According to the Minister, expanding the sporting landscape beyond traditional disciplines remains a key part of Ghana’s long-term sports development agenda.

The visit is expected to mark the beginning of a new partnership between Ghana and the International Mini-Football Federation, with both parties hopeful of building a strong foundation for the growth of mini-football nationwide.
