Ten Hag Axed! Leverkusen Sack Ex-United Boss After Two-Game Nightmare

Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been dismissed by Bayer Leverkusen after just two Bundesliga matches in charge.

The Dutchman, who was appointed during the summer amid high expectations, leaves the former German champions following their dramatic collapse against Werder Bremen at the weekend. The defeat appears to have been the final straw for the club’s hierarchy, who were reportedly concerned by both the team’s performance and lack of cohesion under his leadership.

Ten Hag’s appointment was seen as a bold move by Leverkusen, who had hoped his experience in England and the Netherlands would bring stability and fresh ideas. However, results on the pitch failed to meet expectations, with two disappointing outings leaving the side unsettled and fans frustrated.

The club is yet to announce a permanent successor, but an interim manager is expected to be named in the coming days as Leverkusen look to steady their campaign.

Ten Hag’s departure marks another difficult chapter in his managerial career following a turbulent spell at Old Trafford.
