King Faisal to adopt Abrankese as their home grounds

Ghana Premier League side King Faisal FC will be adopting the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex as its home grounds for the second round of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.

The Management of the club have decided to move away from the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the second round of matches in other to stay safe in top-flight football next season.

sportsnetghana.com can exclusively report that the club have officially sent a proposal to the Ghana Football Association of wanting to move away from its home grounds Kumasi to Kuntenase awaiting approval by the football association.

“We’re in it, we have started the process of adopting the stadium as our new grounds. We are waiting for approval from GFA to move there,” a King Faisal insider told sportsnetghana.com.

Should the proposal be granted by the Ghana FA in time before the start of the second round of league games, King Faisal would welcome Berekum Chelsea on Match Day 18 at their new venue on the 19th February, 2023.

The “In Shaa Allahu” side have won four out of eight matches at home so far this season again Kotoku Royals, Accra Lions, Samartex and Nsoatreman FC, losing three against Aduana Stars, Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC, and drawing one against Hearts of Oak.

With not a vintage home record, King Faisal will be seeking a change of venue to likely strengthen their chances of survival in the 2022/23 season.

They currently sit 16th on the league table after 16 games with 17 points in the relegation zone.
