Thomas Partey lasted 59 minutes for Arsenal in Everton defeat
Ghana’s assistant captain Thomas Teye Partey lasted 59 minutes in Arsenal’s lost to Everton at the Goodison Park in the English Premier League.
The 29-year-old continue to stitch together in midfield for the “Gunners” this season rising to be an indispensable figure for the North London side.
His presence in Arsenal’s defeat was not felt enough in the game after shaking off a late injury he picked up in previous games prior to this weekend’s encounter.
His impressive outing of completing two out of two dribbles and three ball recoveries was not enough to put a lunch time dinner on the tables for Mikel Arteta’s side.
After completing 64 out of 68 attempted passes at Meyseyside, Thomas was substituted for former Chelsea midfielder and new Arsenal import Jorginho Frello on the 59th minutes.
Everton went on, a minute later, to find the back of the net through a corner kick kind courtesy James Tarkowski assisted by Dwight McNeil.
The former Atletico Madrid player has featured in 17 of Arsenal’s 20 Premier League games thus far assisting twice and has played beyond expectation from himself personally and with the club.
It is, however, too early for the Ghanaian to relax on securing a Champions League berth for his side after losing it closely to Tottenham Hotspur last season and possibly fighting to annexing the league trophy.
Notwithstanding the fact that Arsenal tasted their second lost of the season to Everton on Saturday, the first to Manchester United last year, with both games Thomas Partey making in-rows, they lead the table with 50 points with a game in hand.
Arsenal are in line to win the league this season after 19 years with Thomas Teye Partey as a lead figure in the squad.
Arsenal take on Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, 11 February before taking on Manchester City in the outstanding fixture on 15th February, 2023 at the same venue.
