Egyptian trainer Ahmed Fathi has announced his decision to step away from his role as head coach of Swedru All Blacks, citing personal reasons, in a development that has caught many supporters by surprise.

Fathi made the announcement on Saturday via his social media platforms, where he addressed fans of the Swedru-based side and expressed gratitude for the support he received during his spell with the Black Magicians.

“Dear Swedru All Blacks fans, thank you for your support. I have decided not to continue for personal reasons, with full respect to the club and everyone who works in it. I wish the club continued success,” Fathi wrote.

Apology to Fans and Respect for Club

In an earlier part of his message, the Egyptian coach apologised to the club’s supporters for being unable to complete the task entrusted to him, stressing that his decision was taken out of respect for the club, its management and leadership.

The post suggested an amicable separation, even though Swedru All Blacks are yet to officially confirm Fathi’s departure or outline the club’s position on the matter.

Club Silence Fuels Speculation

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been released by the All Blacks hierarchy, a silence that has sparked speculation among fans, particularly given the team’s recent improvement in form.

The club has enjoyed a positive run in recent weeks, highlighted by a notable victory over Asante Kotoko, a result that helped lift the side away from the relegation zone and boosted morale within the squad.

Uncertainty Over Technical Direction

Fathi’s sudden announcement now raises questions about the club’s immediate technical direction as the season progresses. Supporters are eagerly awaiting clarity from management on whether an interim coaching arrangement will be put in place or if a permanent replacement will be named in the coming days.

For now, attention remains firmly on the All Blacks’ leadership to provide guidance and reassurance as the club looks to maintain momentum following its recent resurgence.

Fathi’s Facebook post announcing his decision was shared on Saturday.
