JUST IN: Moroccan Court Jails 18 Senegalese Supporters Over AFCON 2025 Final Disorder

The High Court in Rabat, Morocco, has sentenced 18 Senegalese supporters accused of public disorder during the AFCON 2025 final to prison terms ranging from three months to one year.

Nine supporters were handed one-year custodial sentences and fined 5,000 Moroccan dirhams (approximately $500) each.

A further six individuals received six-month prison terms along with fines of 2,000 dirhams (around $200) apiece.

The remaining three supporters were sentenced to three months’ imprisonment and fined 1,200 dirhams (approximately $120) each.

The presiding judge upheld the recommendations put forward by the prosecution.

Relatives of the convicted supporters described the ruling as harsh, with reports indicating that one of the inmates collapsed in court upon hearing the verdict.

Under Moroccan law, the sentences are immediately enforceable.
