Former Black Stars captain joined dignitaries, football stakeholders and hundreds of passionate supporters at the launch of the UK Ghana Pre-World Cup ActivCities campaign.

The Ghana football legend was spotted alongside H.E. Dr Rogg, COP Lydia Donkor and a host of English Premier League supporters as fans of and turned out in large numbers for the football-themed gathering.

The colourful event, which forms part of activities ahead of the FIFA World Cup, brought together members of the Ghanaian community in the United Kingdom, football enthusiasts and corporate stakeholders to celebrate unity through sport while promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement.

Asamoah Gyan, Ghana’s all-time leading scorer, received a warm reception from supporters, many of whom gathered to take photographs and interact with the former Sunderland striker. His presence added excitement and prestige to the occasion as organisers highlighted the importance of using football as a tool for social connection and youth inspiration.

The campaign is expected to feature a series of sporting and recreational activities in the lead-up to the World Cup, with organisers aiming to strengthen ties between Ghanaian communities abroad and supporters back home.
