Senya Sporting Club, formerly known as Jehovah Shamma FC, have secured promotion to the Central Regional Football Association Division Two League after an impressive campaign in the Awutu Senya West Division Three League.

The club’s remarkable achievement was confirmed after a successful outing in the Zonal Division Three Middle League, held at the Tuba Astro Turf from 10th to 13th June 2026. Having qualified for the competition by winning the Awutu Senya West Division Three League title, Senya Sporting Club continued their fine form and finished second in the zonal championship, earning one of the coveted slots in next season’s Central Regional Division Two League.

The promotion marks a significant milestone in the club’s history and highlights the steady progress made by the team over recent years. Players, officials and supporters celebrated the achievement, which represents the culmination of months of hard work, determination and commitment.

An emotional club chairman, Mr Samuel Kojo Bekoe, could barely contain his excitement after the final whistle.

“At long last,” he said, expressing the joy and relief felt throughout the club following their long-awaited promotion.

Technical Director and Head Coach, Mr Ato Dadzie, popularly known as “CODA”, praised his players for their efforts but acknowledged that preparations for life in Division Two must begin immediately.

“We need to strengthen the squad with about four quality additions. We are looking at bringing in two proven strikers and two central defenders. If we get those players, we will be ready to compete at the next level,” he stated.

Coach Dadzie also expressed confidence in the team’s ability to adapt to the demands of Division Two, pointing to the experience already within the squad.

“We are fortunate to have several experienced players who have previously competed in Division Two football. Players such as King Yoyo, Oliver, Commy and Kofi have valuable experience at that level, and their leadership will be crucial for us going forward.”

The promotion has generated excitement among football enthusiasts in Senya and the wider Awutu Senya area, with supporters hopeful that the club can establish itself as a competitive force in the Central Region football landscape.

As preparations begin for the 2026/27 season, Senya Sporting Club will be aiming not only to compete in Division Two but also to continue their upward trajectory and make their mark on regional football.
