Joseph “Joe” Tagoe has revealed what made him leave Egypt prematurely when he went to ply his trade in the Arabian country.
The former Hearts of Oak winger exposes that he cheated on his age and due to his height, the coach decided to allow him train with the junior side.
He adds that the training structure nearly took of his life due to his age as juxtaposed to the young team.
In an interview with Dan Kwaku Yeboah TV, the 37-year-old stresses that, that led him to return to Ghana prematurely.
“I went to Egypt and changed my age to 21. The coach thought I was indeed 21 due to my height, so whenever we close from training, he will tell me to join the under-20 side to train.
“The way the boys were running I realised I couldn’t cheat nature and if I don’t take care I will exchange my life with money so I had to come home.”
Joe Tagoe played for Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics and Ebusua Dwarfs.
