Appiah McCarthy joins Gold Stars

Former Ashanti Gold SC midfielder, Appiah has joined Bibiani Goldstars on a short term deal till the end of the 2022/23.

The midfielder returns from a career threatening injury that took away from the pitch over a year when he was with Ashanti Gold during the 2020/21 season.

He leaves the club as a free agent after the expiration of his contract at Obuasi where he served for six seasons.

Appiah McCarthy, being one of the exceptional midfielders in Ghana before his injury, will relax the midfield problems Goldstars are facing as he will warm himself back to stardom.

The Dun’s Park stars have had a brilliant start to the season heading toward the finishing line of the first round as juxtaposed to their maiden 2021/22 season.

Coach Michael Osei will be a step ahead in placing well at the end of the season with the capture of Appiah McCarthy who is known for set piece brilliance.

He was part and a main stay of the Black Galaxies team before his injury speaking of his qualities as a midfielder.

Goldstars are currently 3rd on the league table with 26 points after 16 games.
