Coach Kwasi Appiah

Kwasi Appiah, a member of Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee (IMC), has arrived in South Africa to engage in high-level discussions concerning the club’s upcoming pre-season tour.

The former Ghana national team coach and influential figure within the Kotoko setup is in the country to finalise arrangements for the team’s training base, as well as potential pre-season friendly fixtures ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Sources close to the club reveal that Appiah’s visit includes meetings with prospective host facilities, sports complexes, and representatives of South African clubs, with a view to organising friendly matches during Kotoko’s stay.

This initiative forms part of Kotoko’s broader strategy to ensure a well-structured and competitive pre-season, aimed at preparing the squad both physically and tactically under new technical leadership, as the club undergoes significant rebuilding.

Kotoko are expected to conduct part of their pre-season outside Ghana — a move intended to strengthen team cohesion, provide players with exposure to higher-calibre opposition, and enhance the club’s brand visibility.

An official announcement regarding the team’s pre-season base and full schedule is anticipated once Appiah concludes his engagements in South Africa
