Hearts of Oak defender, Konadu Yiadom, is nearing the end of his current contract and remains unwilling to extend his stay, with reports suggesting he is keen to pursue a new challenge elsewhere.
The 25-year-old centre-back joined the Phobians from the West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in August 2022 and quickly established himself as a key figure in the team’s defence.
Yiadom had a brief loan stint with Ukrainian side Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih but failed to make a significant impact, prompting a return to Hearts of Oak at the start of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
In the recently concluded campaign, he featured in 18 matches for the Accra-based club, contributing one goal and one assist.
According to exclusive information reaching Kickgh.com, the towering defender has remained firm in his decision not to renew his contract, despite several efforts by the club to initiate extension talks.
Sources close to the situation reveal that only a personal intervention by Hearts’ board chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, might sway the Black Galaxies defender to reconsider and remain with the club.
If no agreement is reached, Yiadom will become a free agent at the end of this month
