Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of Mohammed Alhassan in the second transfer window of the 2022/23 season.

Mohammed Alhassan joins Asante Kotoko as a free agent after his contract was terminated by his former side Hearts of Oak in December 2022.

The former King Faisal and WAFA defender penned an eighteen-months deal with the Kumasi-based side till the end of the 2023/24 season with an option to extend.

He fell out with the technical team of Hearts of Oak led by Slavtko Matic which led to his twelve months contract terminated by the club.

Mohammed Alhassan was integral for the Black Galaxies’ qualification to the CHAN Tournament in Algeria where he played all the matches against Benin and Nigeria.

He failed to make it to the grand tournament in Algeria due to lack of playing time with his club which affected his selection.

Asante Kotoko are pressing hard to retain the league trophy they won last season as they are currently distance behind league leaders Aduana Stars by four points.

The 30-year-old comes in to solidify the frail backline of the “Porcupine Warriors” as the league enters the second round.
