Gideon Asante Departs Hearts of Oak by Mutual Consent

Accra Hearts of Oak have officially terminated the contract of midfielder Gideon Asante through mutual agreement, the club has confirmed.

The decision marks the end of Asante’s spell with the Phobians, as both parties reached a consensus to part ways ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Asante, who joined the club with high expectations, found it difficult to secure regular playing time during his tenure. The mutual termination of his contract provides the player with the opportunity to explore new challenges, while also giving the club the flexibility to reinforce its midfield options.

The move forms part of a broader restructuring process at the club under new head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, with several changes expected in the squad ahead of the new campaign.

Hearts of Oak have wished Gideon Asante well in his future endeavours.
