PREVIEW: Dreams FC vs Asante Kotoko

130

Dream FC will host Asante Kotoko at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday in the last Match of the first round of the Ghana Premier League 2022/23 season.

Dreams FC have had a topsy-turvy season in terms of results which has dipped them in the middle belt of the league table after a blistering start to the season.

The Dawu-based side have substituted the head of their technical team twice this season which has culminated to their wishy-washy performance thus far.

Coach Abdul Karim Zito’s run of games has seen a resuscitation of hope of not struggling to survive the season at the its tail end.

Dreams FC have not had a good run of history against Asante Kotoko since they first entered the top-flight league; battered home and away last season.

To avoid a possible hiccup in their quest to respectably finish well, a non-negotiable three points will be a refreshing way of finishing the first round on a good note.

The last three away games for Asante Kotoko have been a hell for the club in her position to defend the league at the end of the season failing to get all points in Dormaa, Bibiani and Aiyinase.

Dawu has been a good grounds for Asante Kotoko especially in the last two seasons where they have gathered all three points against Dreams FC.

In a tough season thus far which has seen the league table closed on points, the defending champions would love to close the points atop the table to Aduana Stars who are five points adrift.

Going akin to old tradition of easily picking three points at Dawu, Asante Kotoko will breathe some life in their title defense by closing the dichotomy to two.

It will be disastrous for Asante Kotoko to drop a single point in this game as it will dint the possibility of beating Aduana Stars to the league title.

The game will be live on StarTimes on Sunday at 3 PM.
