Dreams FC snatched all three points in their Match Day 17 in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League game against Asante Kotoko at the Theatre of Dreams at Dawu by beating them 2-0.

One goal each in both halves was enough for Dreams FC to beat Asante Kotoko SC for the first time in their history at the comfort of their home.

Aholou Avocevou scored first for the home side on the 14th minute just before the first quarter of the game.

Abdul Karim Zito’s led side won the first 45 minute in a game that looked set right on their favour as they bossed play to give them some hopes of getting all needed points for the first time against Kotoko.

In the second half, Asante Kotoko made amends to restore parity but the defense of Dreams FC were solid to prevent the away side from scoring any of the chances they created which could have brought the defending champions into the game.

Just on the hour mark, Agyenim Boateng Mensah made the game difficult for Asante Kotoko by getting Dream FC’s second goal.

Asante Kotoko called for a penalty on Rashid Nortey but referee Rustum Gameli Senogbe called play to continue keeping them blank in the game.

Dreams FC held on the two goals throughout the 90 minutes to run home with all three points.

The victory pushes Dreams FC to the 7th on the league table with 23 points after 17 games and Asante Kotoko dropping to the 3rd with 27 points after 17 games.
