Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, has unveiled plans for a major transformation in the broadcasting of Ghana’s top football leagues, including the introduction of coordinated radio commentary from the 2025/26 season.

Speaking at the 31st Ordinary Congress, Okraku confirmed that the Ghana Premier League (GPL) will benefit from a new partnership with Adesat Productions Limited, supported by the Government of Ghana, to deliver high-quality television coverage and improved commercialisation.

“This partnership will not only bring top-tier television production to our league, but will also reward those who have sacrificed so much for the growth of our game,” Okraku said.

Under the agreement, each of the 18 Premier League clubs will receive a minimum of GH¢1 million ahead of the new season. The deal will also see significant investment in the marketing and promotion of the GPL, with the aim of increasing its visibility and appeal.

Okraku further revealed that the new broadcast model will extend to radio, offering synchronised and professional commentary for the Ghana Premier League, Division One League, and Women’s Premier League.

“From the 2025/26 football season, we will have well-coordinated radio commentary for our GPL, DOL, and WPL. This will ensure clarity, professionalism, and engaging content for our audience,” he stated.

The initiative is expected to elevate the matchday experience for fans, strengthen the branding of the leagues, and enhance the overall marketability of Ghanaian football domestically and internationally.
