‘Choose Local Women’: Databank Boss Sparks Debate with Advice to Footballers

6

Chief Executive Officer of Databank, Kojo Addae Mensah, has stirred debate after urging Ghanaian footballers to consider dating local women rather than foreigners.

Speaking in an interview, Mr Addae Mensah argued that relationships with foreign partners often expose players to unnecessary legal complications and false accusations, which could damage both their careers and reputations.

He praised Spanish club Villarreal for standing by Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey during his recent legal challenges, describing their support as exemplary.

A keen football enthusiast himself, Mr Addae Mensah is known to be a staunch supporter of both Arsenal in the English Premier League and Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.

Despite standing by his views, he conceded that his comments may draw backlash, acknowledging the sensitive nature of issues surrounding race, relationships and public perception.
