The 2025 Top 4 tournament will officially commence today August 20, and GHALCA Chairman John Ansah has stated they won’t reveal the prize rewards the partaking clubs will get to the media.

This is an off-season competition organized for the top four performing clubs in the previous campaign to battle for supremacy and also test their strength for the upcoming season.

This year’s edition will be competed by champions Bibiani GoldStars, second-place Heart of Lions and the two giants; Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko Hearts.

Just like last year, it will once again be played in a league format with all four clubs playing against each other and the team with the most points in the end will emerge as champions.

Speaking on Woezor TV, the Ghana League Clubs Association head John Ansah stated they want their peace of mind so they won’t announce the prize money for the upcoming tournament and this is to avoid a wide range of talking points in the media.

“Unfortunately, we are not discussing financial rewards because we did the same with the President’s Cup, and we were at peace.

“The clubs who are involved and are the beneficiaries must know what is involved in terms of the financial rewards,” he added.

“There is a trophy for the winner, and it has been in the system since we unveiled the Top 4 tournament. It has been going around, and it is a unique trophy.

“There are medals for the first two, and there are other things for the other two clubs to indicate their participation in the Top 4 tournament,”

The first game is between Asante Kotoko and champions Bibiani GoldStars at 15:00GMT (3:00pm). Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions will also clash again at 18:00GMT (6:00pm) in the second game, all at the University of Ghana Stadium.
