Sudan head coach Kwesi Appiah has declared his ambition to win the ongoing 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), after guiding the Falcons of Jediane to the semi-finals with a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Algeria.
Looking ahead to Tuesday’s semi-final clash with Madagascar on 26 August, the Ghanaian tactician stressed that Sudan’s objective extends well beyond participation.
“Our ambition is not just to take part. We are determined to compete for, and ultimately win, the African title,” Appiah told CAFOnline.
The former Black Stars manager also praised the commitment of his players and hailed the unwavering support of Sudanese fans, describing it as a major source of inspiration.
“Millions of Sudanese people are behind us, and their support drives us forward. I can say it clearly: our goal is to bring home the African title,” he added.
The semi-final is scheduled to take place at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with kick-off at 16:30 GMT.
