The Ghana U-17 national team, the Black Starlets, have successfully undergone the mandatory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) age-verification tests at the Moscati Hospital in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.
The exercise, which is a requirement by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is designed to ensure fair competition and eligibility of players in age-grade tournaments. All members of the squad were screened under the supervision of CAF medical officials and team doctors.
The Black Starlets are in Yamoussoukro preparing for their opening Group A fixture against Togo, scheduled for Saturday. The tournament serves as the regional qualifier for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, with participating nations vying for a place in next year’s continental finals.
Head Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and technical team are expected to finalise preparations with tactical sessions over the coming days as the players look sharp and motivated ahead of the crucial encounter.
Ghana will be aiming to secure early momentum in the group stage, with hopes of not only qualifying for the continental championship but also laying the foundation for future Black Stars success.
