Semenyo Hails Career-Best Form After Inspiring Bournemouth Win Over Fulham

Antoine Semenyo: “I’m Playing the Best Football of My Career”

Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo believes he is in the finest form of his career after scoring twice in the Cherries’ 3-1 victory over Fulham in the Premier League on Friday night.

The visitors fell behind to an early strike from Ryan Sessegnon, but Semenyo inspired a comeback with a moment of individual brilliance. Picking up the ball on the left flank, he danced past several defenders before firing a low shot through Bernd Leno’s legs from an acute angle.

With Fulham pressing for an equaliser deep into stoppage time, the Ghanaian international struck again to seal the points, adding to his earlier assist for Justin Kluivert.

Reflecting on his performance, Semenyo expressed gratitude for his current run of form.

“The first half was a bit flat, but at the interval the manager told us to take more shots,” he explained. “It was frustrating to concede, but we built momentum and eventually the win came.

“For my first goal, I knew I was going to beat my man. There weren’t many options to cross, so my thought process was to go for the keeper’s legs — and it came off perfectly.

“The second was different. I had to put my head down, make a run and support. I was tired, but stayed calm, and Ben did brilliantly to pick me out.

“It doesn’t come as a surprise to those of us inside the dressing room that we’re doing well. We’ll keep working hard and see where it takes us.

“I’d like to think this is the best football of my career. I’m truly grateful to God — I’m reaping the rewards now, and I’ll always thank Him.”

Semenyo’s brace lifted Bournemouth further up the league table, with the 24-year-old emerging as one of their standout performers this season.
