Mahama Rewards UDS with GHC500,000 for Historic FISU World University Football Triumph in China

President John Dramani Mahama has presented a cash reward of GHC500,000 to the University for Development Studies (UDS) in recognition of their historic triumph at the FISU World University Football Tournament held in China.

The UDS football team made Ghana proud by emerging champions in the prestigious international competition, which featured top university teams from around the world. Their victory marked a significant milestone not only for the institution but also for Ghanaian university sports as a whole.

Presenting the cheque,President Mahama commended the team for their dedication, teamwork, and exemplary representation of Ghana on the global stage. He emphasised the importance of investing in youth and sports development, noting that the UDS team’s achievement demonstrates the potential of Ghanaian students when given the right support and opportunities.

Officials of UDS expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the former president for his generous gesture, pledging to continue nurturing talent and upholding the university’s reputation for excellence in both academics and sports.
