Otto Addo Urges Black Stars to Stay Focused Ahead of Crucial World Cup Qualifier

Ghana head coach Otto Addo has called on his players to remain focused and disciplined as they prepare for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying encounter.

Speaking ahead of the decisive fixture, Addo emphasised the importance of learning from past mistakes, particularly from their last away match against Chad.

“Everything is in our hands, but I hope we have learnt the lessons from the last away game against Chad,” he said. “It is vital that we remain focused and concentrated, and not assume victory before the final whistle, as complacency can be a major danger.”

The Black Stars are keen to maintain their winning momentum as they seek to secure a top spot in their qualifying group. Addo’s men have shown flashes of brilliance in recent outings but have also been guilty of letting their guard down in crucial moments — something the coach is determined to address.

Ghana will be looking to put up a dominant performance to edge closer to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
