Ghanaian coach C.K. Akonnor has secured his first piece of silverware with Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia, guiding the club to victory in the ODM @20 Cup.

The triumph marks a dream start to Akonnor’s tenure since taking charge of the record Kenyan champions earlier this season. Gor Mahia displayed impressive form throughout the competition, culminating in a decisive win in the final to lift the trophy.

Akonnor, a former Black Stars head coach, was appointed to revitalise Gor Mahia’s campaign both domestically and on the continental stage. His early success has already endeared him to the club’s passionate supporters, who are optimistic about the team’s prospects ahead of the new Kenyan Premier League season.

The victory also signals Gor Mahia’s strong intent to reclaim dominance in Kenyan football and make an impact in upcoming CAF competitions under Akonnor’s leadership.
