Andrews Tetteh, born to a Ghanaian father and a Sierra Leonean mother, is on the verge of making history as he prepares to become only the second Black footballer to represent the Greece national team after Daniel Batista, who last featured for the Greeks in 1994. His decision marks a significant moment not only for Greek football but also for the growing diversity within the national side.
The powerful forward, affectionately known as the “GA boy”, has confirmed his commitment to donning the blue and white of Greece and is expected to be named in the squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. His choice reflects both his pride in the country where he grew up and his ambition to compete at the highest level of international football.
Tetteh’s club career has been equally noteworthy. He began his senior journey with PAO Rouf, where he made 46 appearances and scored 14 goals between 2018 and 2020. His performances quickly caught the eye of top-flight scouts, earning him a move to A.E. Kifisia in 2020. At Kifisia, he established himself as one of the club’s most reliable attacking assets, scoring 40 goals in 114 appearances and helping the team maintain a strong presence in Greek football.
In 2024, Tetteh secured a loan move to Panetolikos to gain more top-tier experience. During the 2024–2025 season, he featured 13 times and contributed 2 goals, further showcasing his work ethic, physical presence, and ability to adapt to higher levels of competition.
His rapid rise and recent international call-up underline both his professional maturity and the confidence Greece’s coaching staff have in his potential.
