Asamoah Gyan, Stephen Appiah, Andre Ayew and Others Receive Lifetime Achievement Honours at 50th SWAG Awards

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) celebrated its landmark 50th Anniversary Awards with a distinguished ceremony in Accra, recognising some of the nation’s most iconic footballers with Lifetime Achievement honours.

Among the celebrated legends were former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, ex-national team skipper Stephen Appiah, and Senior National Team forward Andre Ayew. The awards were presented in recognition of their outstanding contributions to Ghanaian football, their leadership on and off the pitch, and their enduring influence on the development of the sport.

The Golden Jubilee edition of the SWAG Awards brought together notable personalities from the sporting fraternity, past heroes, administrators, and supporters, all united in celebrating five decades of excellence in sports journalism and achievement.

SWAG reaffirmed its commitment to honouring individuals who have brought pride to the nation through dedication, professionalism and remarkable sporting distinction.
