Premier League and Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Hwang Hee-chan has finally spoken following the penalty miss that saw Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, produce a comfortable save.

Hwang, popularly known as “The Bull,” admitted that he felt deeply embarrassed after failing to convert what many believed was a crucial opportunity for his side.

Speaking after the match, the South Korean international said the reaction from his teammates made the moment even more difficult.

“After the game, everyone laughed and teased me. I felt embarrassed in front of the fans. I approached the kick seriously, but there was too much on my mind. I should have kept it simple. It is a moment I regret a lot. If we take our chances calmly, we can win easily. I will reflect on it.”

Addressing the issue of penalty-taking responsibilities, Hwang explained that the role remains open within the squad.

“Nothing is fixed, and I have usually been the one taking them,” he added.

Hwang’s comments come amid strong praise for Ghana’s goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, whose decisive save has drawn admiration from local fans and international observers alike.
