MTN FA Cup: Aduana Stars welcome Asante Kotoko on Sunday in R16 fixture

Aduana Stars will welcome Asante Kotoko at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park at Dormaa Ahenkro for the Round 16 of the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup on Sunday at 3 PM.

The league leaders are playing the defending champions to define and predict the two’s season where one will keep focus on two trophies or either of the two trophies in the local scene.

For Aduana Stars, it is a game that needs all importance placed on to have some assurance of winning at least a trophy this season as they comfortably lead the BetPawa Premier League coupled with some exceptional performance.

On the other hand Asante Kotoko see this game as one that will have a great path to summarize their season as they are a distance third placed to Aduana Stars in the league and will place weight on how to defeat the “Ogya boys” to book a place in the next round of the FA Cup.

As they are not guaranteed a competitive fight to the league trophy in the second round, winning the FA Cup will be key in putting Asante Kotoko back to the Africa Club Competitions next season.

Aduana Stars have not won the FA Cup yet since it bounced back some ten years ago after twelve years abeyance whiles Asante Kotoko have won it twice in that spate.
