Ghana’s Black Maidens produced a dominant display to defeat Togo 6-0 and secure their place in the second round of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers with an emphatic 8-0 aggregate victory.

Having already taken a comfortable advantage from the first leg, the Ghanaian youngsters showed no signs of slowing down as they overwhelmed their opponents with attacking football, sharp movement and clinical finishing.

The Black Maidens controlled proceedings from the opening whistle, creating chances at will and keeping the Togolese defence under constant pressure. Their quality in possession and relentless pressing proved too much for Togo to handle as the goals continued to flow throughout the contest.

The resounding victory underlines Ghana’s pedigree in youth women’s football, with the Black Maidens once again demonstrating why they remain one of the strongest sides on the continent.

Attention now turns to the second round, where Ghana will look to continue their impressive form and move one step closer to another appearance on the world stage.
