The Black Stars technical team, led by experienced Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz, has completed an extensive month-long scouting and tactical analysis programme as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Between April 11 and May 11, the technical department embarked on a comprehensive exercise aimed at strengthening every aspect of the national team ahead of the global showpiece in June.

The project formed part of a broader strategy to build a more competitive and well-structured Black Stars setup through detailed scouting, tactical planning, fitness evaluations and medical assessments.

Figures released by the department revealed the scale of the operation, with the technical team producing over 200 detailed video performance reports while monitoring approximately 170 matches across various competitions.

In addition, the staff conducted 30 live match observations, maintained regular scouting reports on 75 players and directly assessed 30 players during live fixtures.

The month-long exercise also included in-depth tactical analysis, physical fitness assessments and medical monitoring as the Black Stars continue fine-tuning preparations for the tournament.

In an internal message shared among staff members, the department praised the commitment and professionalism shown throughout the exercise.

“Behind every future success lies invisible work, sacrifice, discipline and countless hours of commitment,” the statement read.

The message further commended the technical team for their dedication and attention to detail.

“We are proud of the professionalism, loyalty and tireless spirit shown.

“The dream of a national team is built every single day — through dedication, competence, attention to detail, passion and responsibility.”

The technical team insists preparations will continue in the coming weeks as Ghana gears up for its fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup.

“The work continues. To the future.”

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.

Ghana will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17 before facing England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
