De Zerbi Confirms Season-Ending Injury Blow for Mohammed Kudus

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Ghana international Mohammed Kudus will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a serious setback in his recovery from a quadriceps injury.

Kudus had only recently resumed training following a three-month spell on the sidelines, but the latest relapse has now ruled him out for the rest of the campaign. The injury is understood to be severe enough that surgery is being considered.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s vital Premier League encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion, De Zerbi expressed his disappointment and sympathy for the versatile attacker.

“I feel sorry for him because he is a great person and an important player for us,” the Spurs boss said.

The news is a major blow for Tottenham, who are currently 18th in the table and fighting to avoid relegation with just six matches remaining. Kudus had been expected to play a key role in the club’s survival battle after making progress in his rehabilitation.

Before sustaining the injury in January, the former Ajax star had enjoyed a solid campaign, registering three goals and six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

The setback will also be a concern for Ghana, with the Black Stars preparing for their upcoming World Cup campaign. Kudus remains one of the national team’s most influential players, and his fitness will be closely monitored in the months ahead.

Fellow Ghana international Antoine Semenyo described the development as “frustrating”, reflecting the disappointment shared by supporters both in North London and back home.

For Tottenham, the immediate focus now turns to their battle for survival, but for Kudus, attention shifts to recovery and a race against time to return stronger next season.
