Linford Boadu says GFA thinking of retiring number 7 shirt of Black Stars

The Ghana Football Association is considering retiring the jersey number 7 of the Black Stars in honour of the late Christian Atsu says Linford Boadu.

According to Linford Boadu, the Chairman of Eastern Regional Football Association who doubles as an Executive Council Member, the Executive Council of the GFA is thinking of hanging the shirt donned by Atsu during his active days for Ghana.

He says that can only be conclusive when a meeting is held to determine the way forward of what is on board.

“The Executive council of the FA is thinking about a lot of things; some think the number 7 jersey must be retired in honor of Atsu but there should be a meeting to decide.”

Christian Atsu Twasam died after the earthquake that occurred in Turkey where he plied his trade with Hatayaspor on February 6, 2023.

He was found dead twelve days after the incident under the rubbles lifeless and his mortal remains has been returned to Ghana for burial.
